Egypt: Rights Groups Call for End to State Harassment of Human Rights Defender Mohamed Abdel Salam and Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression

Over 25 rights organizations condemn the continued harassment of lawyer Mohamed Abdel Salam – ex-director of AFTE – after his detention at Cairo Airport and passport confiscation.These acts are part of a systematic crackdown on Egypt’s independent civil society.We demand an immediate end to the harassment, the return of his passport, and protections for human rights defenders.
