Access Center for Human Rights (ACHR) has released its latest report, “Return Without Guarantees: Return Policies of Syrian Refugees from Neighboring Countries”, shedding light on the realities of forced deportations and mounting pressures on Syrian refugees in neighboring countries, following recent political shifts in Syria and challenges upon return.
The report documents testimonies of 16 refugees who returned from Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, and Iraq—some voluntarily, others forcibly deported—highlighting the critical challenges they faced in host countries and after their return: legal violations, economic collapse, lack of protection, loss of shelter, and persistent insecurity.
This report is not just a record of facts — it is an urgent call for the international community to uphold its responsibilities, protect refugees from forced return, and guarantee their right to a safe and dignified return.
